Asterisk® is a complete, open source PBX developed by Digium®,Inc. and is available as a free download from Asterisk.org. It provides the features you would expect from a traditional hardware PBX and can interoperate with almost all standards-based telephony equipment. Although free, Asterisk can be very difficult to set up and configure without experience.
